Are you the seasoned e-comm genius who’ll help us redefine what it means to buy a bike online? 


At VanMoof, we build the smartest city bikes in the world, then sell them directly to our riders. E-commerce is the powerhouse of our business ( already accounts for over 70% of our revenue) but we need you to grow our audiences, streamline our processes, and remove all friction – so we can truly redefine what it means to buy a bike online.

As our Global E-Commerce Director, you’ll have clear opinions and valuable insights on everything related to online sales. This includes (but isn’t limited to!) the effectiveness of our media spend, website conversion, content creation, brand store integration, and even our bike names. On a day-to-day level, you’ll manage performance marketing and web development functions, ensuring that both can scale to match our business objectives. We want to lead the way in e-commerce, you’ll be directly responsible for the integration, innovation, recruitment, and raw hustle needed to make this happen.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver online revenue and ROI objectives.
  • Ensure that the customer journey between brand stores and website (and back again!) is completely seamless – customers don’t think on- and offline, neither should we.
  • Build and mentor a high performance team – covering media strategy, performance marketing, and conversion optimisation and development.
  • Track, measure, extract, and convert raw data into sharp insights that help to improve the customer experience every day.
  • Map the online customer journey through qualitative and quantitative insights, identify the points of friction, and build a plan to remove them.
  • Share data-driven insights with the (internal) creative team, to produce engaging and effective campaigns on our paid channels that either grow our audience or help increase conversion.
  • Grow our SEO traffic, ensuring we have the right content to answer our customers’ queries, as well as the authority and technology to outrank the competition.
  • Develop a media strategy, determining in/outsourcing needs as the company grows.

The E-commerce Director we're looking for has:

  • Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in e-commerce and digital marketing
  • At least 3 years experience building and leading an e-commerce team
  • Flexible, bold, and determined personality
  • Experience with international teams is strongly preferred
  • Fluent spoken and written English is required, Dutch is a bonus
